Hear the band like never before.

New Order will return to their hometown this summer for the Manchester International Festival to perform a special series of concerts with a 12-member synthesizer ensemble.

As The Guardian reports, the band will be “deconstructing, rethinking and rebuilding a wealth of material from throughout their career” during several intimate shows around the city made in collaboration with visual artist Liam Gillick.

The band have worked with frequent collaborator and composer Joe Duddell to arrange the synthesizer parts and provide live orchestrations. The ensemble will be made up of musicians from the Royal Northern College of Music.

MIF opens June 29, learn more on their website. So far these only shows of this kind New Order have planned, but they’d be crazy not to bring it elsewhere.
