The resourceful ravers even brought their own Red Stripe and glow sticks.

An evening class for beginner DJs at a Nottinghamshire school had to be broken up by police at 3:30am on Sunday morning (March 12) after it turned into a 250-strong rave.

As the Nottingham Post reports, a booking had been made at West Bridgford’s Rushcliffe School for a DJ class to take place between 7pm and 10pm on Saturday (March 11), but things escalated after the session.

According to ITV News, videos and pictures posted on social media showed the revellers partying with glow sticks and drinking cans of Red Stripe lager.

Rushcliffe School headteacher Steve Lewis told the Post: “Sadly staff were not on site, the person was known to them. They were given the responsibility and that responsibility was placed in the wrong hands.

“There was 250 people and it lasted until 3.30am, and at one point the fire brigade got called out because the smoke alarm went off.

“We are absolutely mortified by it. It is nothing that the school would ever want to be connected with, or Field Sports Management. We are part of the community and want to support it and be good residents.”

Videos and pictures posted on social media showed young people partying with glow sticks and what appeared to be cans of Red Stripe lager.

Minor damage occurred to parts of the building, but Nottinghamshire Police, who were called at 2am, said they were “satisfied that no offences [had] been committed.”
