The punk legend discusses Trump in yet another interview.

John Lydon has followed his controversial statements about Donald Trump with a new interview today offering further defense, Pitchfork points out.

“To be smearing him as a racist, this isn’t right, there’s no evidence or proof to that. Until there is I’ll stand up and say ‘that’s wrong,’” he said on Virgin Radio UK. “Whether you like [Trump] or not, you have to support him, or you will destroy the country. You’ve got to make things work.”

Yesterday, the Sex Pistols frontman appeared on Good Morning Britain telling hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid that he considered Trump a “possible friend”.
