With the release of new album Veckatimest on Warp, 2009 was the year Grizzly Bear went from being another Pitchfork-approved indie band from Brooklyn to a Pitchfork-adored and Jay-Z-approved indie band from Brooklyn.

We’d wager they’re pretty chuffed about the development (God knows we’d be), so it’s understandable that they’ve chanced the live circuit pretty hard in the Veckatimest fall-out. The band have, in fact, just announced a one-off date at the Roundhouse, London. It doesn’t occur ‘til March 13, 2010, but given the band’s current popularity we’d suggest getting tickets early. They go on sale here this Friday.

Support for the gig will be the excellent Beach House .

Grizzly Bear will also be touring the UK next month; however, many of the dates are sold out, including the London date with the London Symphony Orchestra. You can see the full schedule for November here.
