Roska will release his debut album on Rinse next year, and has a slew of high-profile remixes scheduled for the coming months.

The South London-based producer spoke to FACT earlier today about some of his imminent and future releases.

"At the moment I’m currently putting together the last tracks for my album which should be out next year on Rinse Recordings – which I’m totally excited about." Roska is closely allied to London’s Rinse, presenting a regular UK house and funky-oriented show on Rinse FM.

"I’ve been remixing a lot over the past six months," he continues. "Look out for my mixes of  ‘Predator Mode’ By Ghosts on Tape, ‘Square One’ by Mosca, ‘Spare Ribs’ By Zed Bias, Tongue Riddim by Baobinga, plus some more – I can’t remember them all."

Roska also mentioned his forthcoming two-track collaborative release with Untold on Build Records, which we couldn’t be more excited about. We think we’re right in prophesying remixes of Beezy and Modeselektor from your man too, so watch out.

Roska’s latest remix is of the new single on Erol Alkan ‘s Phantasy label. A year ago this hook-up would have been hard to imagine, but a lot happens in a year, and with UK funky gaining ever greater currency among dance music’s chattering classes, it’s perhaps no surprise that the man behind ‘Feeline’ and ‘Boxed In’ has caught the former Trash man’s attention.

The remix is of ‘Bangkok’ by Boris Dlugosch. Dlugosch is based in Hamburg and is a veteran of the German house scene, with commercial-leaning releases on labels like Jive, Positiva and Ministry of Sound. His Phantasy debut is crudely enjoyable, the kind of fidgety electro-house track that form the backbone of Alkan’s DJ sets. It appears on the single in both original and dub versions, as well as the Roska remix – which takes a few ravey motifs from the original and couches them in the kind of syncopated, soca-infused rhythm that he does better than anyone else.
