Carsten Nicolai will curate the 2010 Parallel Voices season at the Siobhan Davies Dance Studio in London.

Nicolai is active and acclaimed in both the sonic and visual arts fields, performing and exhibiting around the world. He is perhaps best known for being co-founder of the Raster-Noton label, and for his recordings made under the name Alva-Noto. He has collaborated with the likes of Ryuichi Sakamoto, Richie Hawtin and Michael Nyman.

The event is subtitled ‘Missing Link’ and will bring together “internationally renowned composers and musicians, choreographers and dancers,
curators and scientists […] focussing on the Missing Link between different art genres and science.”

Missing Link will take place over three consecutive evenings – March 18, 19 and 20 – and each evening will comprise a one-off performance and a talk with the artists.

The centrepiece of event is a new large-scale light installation by Nicolai entitled Monitor, a specially commissioned work consisting of custom-made neon tubes.

More information will be available nearer the time of the event. Be sure to read our profile of Raster-Noton and Carsten Nicolai here.
