Peter Van Hoesen is one of the more interesting and hard-to-pin-down talents working in electronic music today.

On March 22 he releases Entropic City, his first full-length techno album, on CD/digital via his own Time To Express label. This follows Entropic Minus Six, a 12″ which featured four of the album’s tracks.

Entropic City opens with the excellent, faintly industrial ‘Into Entropy’, and Van Hoesen has made a special FACT edit of the track for today’s Daily Download. It’s a telling production from the Brussels man, betraying not just his understanding of techno but also his love of dub, abstract electronica and the kind of stripped-back d’n’b pioneered by Photek. It’s a subtle track but one of real narrative power and bass-weight; classy stuff indeed. Preview more tracks from the LP here.
