As part of this year’s Ether Festival, Lou Reed’s Metal Machine Trio will be performing the 1975 album Metal Machine Music.

Once commonly derided for its pretentiousness and perceived fuck-you unlistenability, MMM is now justly considered an interesting experiment (if not an outright classic), and an infamous part of musical history that has inspired several generations of noise-makers with its sound and attitude. Put it this way, it’s undoubtedly the festival’s hottest ticket.

We’ve a pair of tickets to give away for this performance, which takes place at the Southbank Centre on April 19. Email us at competitions@vinylfactory.co.uk and you’re in the draw.

Metal Machine Music’s getting reissued by the way. Full story here.
