Read our recent interview with Laurel Halo on her new album, Quarantine?

Good – then you’ll probably be eager to hear it, and chuffed that Gorilla vs Bear are streaming a gorgeous track from it, titled ‘Light and Space’.

Halo, when describing the album to FACT, talked about how she “started out with a ton of echo and reverb on the vocals, but it sounded supremely boring to me, so I was curious how they’d sound dry in the arrangements and got rid of most of the wetness. It ended up creating this amazing contrast effect, the vocals slicing through the mix, giving rhythmic contour to the tracks that was previously missing in delay haze … painfully human vocals made sense for this record.”

You can see what she’s talking about by streaming the track here. Hyperdub will release Quarantine on May 28 (June 5 US).
