Juan Atkins drops by East London tonight for dollop’s mammoth Detroit Series series.

The techno progenitor (and, we’re still thrilled to say, recent FACT mixer) has a reputation that precedes him by a good half mile: if you’re not au fait with Model 500, The Belleville Three et al, you’ve got some serious techno scrubbing up to do. A new promotional video allows you to spend some face time with the legend, and very watchable it is too.

The self-styled “visionary of techno music extraordinaire” doesn’t go in for modesty, but he does prove a riveting tour guide as he takes you around the Submerge Techno museum.
