After Lil’ Wayne’s frazzled ‘My Homies Still’, here’s another unhinged hip-hop video.

‘Flight Confirmation’, taken from The Alchemist’s forthcoming Russian Roulette, is a much, much, much cheaper affair than Wayne’s vid, but both share a surrealist sensibility and a fascination with men turning into dogs.

The video is a lo-fi clusterfuck, an ultra-cheap assemblage of gifs, memes and cobwebby reel-to-reel footage. James Ferraro comes to mind, but one senses that the ‘Flight Confirmation’ clip probably doesn’t have the conceptual rigour of a Rapture Adrenaline (it does, however, have a lot of booty shots, making this thoroughly NSFW). There are some neat features on Russian Roulette, but double-booking Black Hippy ScHoolboy Q and bellowmeister Danny Brown was definitely the smartest call: the former’s typically diverting, and the latter sounds gruffer than he has in a while.
