The Radiohead multi-instrumentalist is up to his old tricks on ‘Application 45 Version 1.’

Reminiscent of his unnerving soundtrack for There Will Be Blood (which was also directed by The Master-director Paul Thomas Anderson ), this new movement is sparsely orchestrated but powerful. It flows with ease from burial march to hopeful swell to stringed dissonance, not unlike other Greenwood (and Radiohead) songs.

The soundtrack is due out on September 11. It will feature 11 original compositions (six of which were performed by the London Contemporary Orchestra) in addition to four vintage recordings.
