After Obama’s less-than-incendiary debate performance, it’s fallen to Killer Mike to take on the Republican firmament.

‘Reagan’ – plucked from highly-regarded Killer Mike/El-P collaboration R.A.P Music – was one of the most forceful tracks on a record that could hardly be accused of pulling many punches. The Atlanta rapper’s four minute broadside takes on mainstream rap (“We are advertisements for agony and pain”), the War On Drugs (“What it really did was let the police terrorise whoever/But mostly black boys”) and the entire history of the Industrial Revolution (“If none of us own acres, and none of us grow wheat/Then who will feed our people when our people need to eat?”).

The track has now got an impressive animated video, zipping through the myriad of points in Killer Mike’s sermon with panache and flair. A smart visual accompaniment for one of the year’s most loquacious cri de coeurs. [via Pitchfork]
