Lil B’s latest mixtape is a Halloween special.
For the uninitiated, Lil B hails from Oakland, California, and releases mixtapes more regularly than Ludacris phones in feature spots. To date, these have included minor weird-rap classics (Blue Flame), political statements (Obama Based God), exercises in ambient synthdrift (Rain in England) and more – there’s even a garage-rock record, California Boy, on the way, and an 848-track marathon from earlier this year.
On Halloween H20 – which we’re pretty sure isn’t the first mixtape to feature a typo on the cover – the Lil Boss gets seasonal over spooky snare rolls and over-crunched synths. It’s not going to change anyone’s opinion of Lil B, but what is at this point?
