Stream Dubbel Dutch's Self Help Riddim EP, out today on Mixpak Records

The Austin club producer explores the therapeutic abilities of riddims and instrumentals.

Last year, Dubbel Dutch told FACT that the Self Help Riddim EP would draw on “instrumental dancehall, melodic pop, prototypical grime, and U.S. club music” while taking on “melodic, pretty, and almost therapeutic tones.”

The EP, out today via Mixpak records, delivers on those promises, as Dubbel Dutch fuses soothing synth melodies to the swaying beats of dancehall and similarly tropical styles. From the percussive title track, to the sparse, string-accented ‘Ice Bath’, to the grimy menace of ‘Mirror Test’, Dubbel Dutch has put down a marker on grooves at this syrupy tempos.
