Frank Ocean is "10, 11 songs" into Channel Orange follow-up

The Grammy-award winning talent opens up to BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe.

Despite threatening to end his album-making career after channel ORANGE (perhaps to focus on novels), Frank Ocean is indeed working on a third full length effort. “I’m 10, 11 songs into this next thing,” Ocean told Zane Lowe today. “It’s another cohesive thing, bordering on a concept record again.”

While details are scare, the preternaturally talented 25-year-old is planning to work on the upcoming LP in Bora Bora and is looking to continue the “beach theme” of hidden track ‘Golden Girl’. Ocean is also planning to meet with Danger Mouse and would love to work with big-voiced Brit King Krule.

And while collaborator Pharrell Williams has suggested that Ocean tour behind channel ORANGE for the next two years, that won’t be happening. “I can’t tour for two years straight because I have to record,” Ocean said, adding that he plans on touring this summer. [via Spin]
