Rome Fortune’s Beautiful Pimp was one of our favourite albums of 2013 so far, and he makes a timely return with ‘Rights For Wrongs’

Produced by regular collaborator Childish Major, who sprung to fame recently thanks to Rick Ross’s ill advised verses on ‘U.O.E.N.O.’, ‘Rights For Wrongs’ is a throwback to Fortune’s earlier material, glancing to rap’s jazzier past but retaining the icy minimalism that made Beautiful Pimp so essential. This makes some kind of sense, as the track is culled from a forthcoming ‘mixtape compilation’, which we are assuming will round up some of the rapper’s under-appreciated and similarly flavoured older material.

Whatever the final tape might contain, we’re just happy to have more material from one of  rap’s most crucial underground voices. [via Spin]
