As always, take this with a pinch of salt, but Wiley’s latest Twitter announcement is a pretty exciting one.

The king of grime has claimed in a series of tweets that he’s starting up a new clubnight, taking place at London’s hallowed Plastic People.  The night is called Phaze 1 (named after Wiley’s first production alias) and promises “the best in grime from day 1 up to this very day.”  The announcement follows 2011’s successful resurrection of the seminal Eskimo Dance.

Of course, this is Wiley we’re talking about, so nothing is 100% certain: there’s no mention of the night on Plastic People’s website, although their calendar does list the 26th as having an unnamed night taking place.  Likewise, other than a promise of “all the best grime dj’s and Mc Wiley and more,” there’s no word of an official lineup – a glance at Wiley’s timeline suggests possible sets from both Logan Sama and Jammer.

We have reached out to Plastic People for confirmation and will update this post when we hear back from them.
