James Murphy shares "not particularly summery" summer mixtape

The ex-LCD Soundsystem frontman certainly stays busy.

Murphy has assembled a “not particularly summery summer jam mix tape” for Rdio. “It does what it says in the title,” he writes. “It’s a cassette mix.” The predictably eclectic DFA man included Cabaret Voltaire’s ‘Seconds Too Late’, Black Flag’s ‘Rise Above’, ‘Sylvester’s ‘Over and Over’, and songs by Fleetwood Mac, John Cale, Suicide in the mix.

Stream the set below. Since breaking up LCD Soundsystem, Murphy has worked with Arcade Fire, built a 50,000-watt soundsystem, and composed music for a Broadway show, among other things. [via Stereogum]
