Glasgow synthpop get the Bristol treatment.

As one third of dubstep forward thinkers Livity Sound, Kowton’s usual groove lies far away from the romantic synthpop of Scottish newcomers CHVRCHES, but his appointment on remix duties for the band’s new single ‘The Mother We Share’ has produced a stunner that could well be Bristol’s answer to the quiet storm sound.

Stripping out the vocals from the original, Kowton places mournful synths glowing in the background while jagged percussion chops and thwacks, gently raising the tension as it builds to a dreamy climax – we’ve got the first listen below.

CHVRCHES have displayed a keen ear for remixers so far, inviting Groundislava and Auntie Flo to work their magic on previous single ‘Gun’. Earlier this year the band also dropped an excellent video for their single ‘Recover’.

Livity Sound, meanwhile, recently announced the release their first full-length.
