UK veteran DJ Zinc readies new single for Rinse: stream 'King Kong' inside

DJ Zinc has been part of London’s musical fabric since the mid-1990s.

Best known for his ’95 hit ‘Super Sharp Shooter’, Zinc’s overseen UK club music’s transitions from hardcore to jungle, from garage to grime and more, and he’s frequently readjusted his sound to fit – see his ahead-of-the-game breakbeat garage releases in the early ’00s, considered sheer blasphemy by some junglists at the time but celebrated as classics years later.

Recent years have seen Zinc’s music at its most colourful, from Ms Dynamite-featuring anthem ‘Wile Out’ to his elasticated Crack House EPs. Zinc’s next step will be a two-track single for Rinse, featuring ‘Rollin Neatly’ and ‘King Kong’ – we’re streaming the latter track below.
