Gothenburg producer Dan Lissvik, previously one half of Swedish duo Studio, has just joined the prestigious ranks of Smalltown Supersound with this tasty creation – a loping, downtempo A-side based around a sleazy funk guitar loop and a sprightlier, richly melodious B-side – ahead of his full-length on the label later this year.

An irresistibly noodly, subtly bonkers rave diversion greets you on the A-side of this splendid EP from Aussie producers Tuff Sherm (aka Dro Carey) and Patch Free, who keep the standard up on the vertigo-inducing ‘Sound1’ and the equally off-kilter ‘Pusillanimous’, which is then remixed by Swedish rogues Frak.

Original Friends and Buddies LP

The first version of Milton Wright’s classic Miami soul LP Friends & Buddies was shelved at the last minute and then re-recorded and overdubbed, with only a few promo copies surviving, so it’s a treat to finally hear this softer, looser, stripped-back take on the heavily sampled ’70s record. Comes with fresh sleeve notes from Wright.
