DOOM takes over BBC Radio 1, chats with Benji B

DOOM stops by BBC Radio 1 for a mix-and-chat session with DJ Benji B.

The two hour set (streaming now) runs through touchstones of the hip-hop enigma’s entire catalog, as evidenced by over two decades of aliases and collaborations: KMD, MF DOOM, Madvillain, Viktor Vaughn, DOOM, and (most recently) JJ DOOM. For completists, there are remixes of Nas’ ‘One Love’ and Raekwon’s ‘Incarcerated Scarfaces,’ as well.

The controversial metal faced rapper (and not a DOOMposter) spoke with Benji B about memorizing a career’s worth of rhymes (“I gotta give it up to the brain”), working with the ever-prolific Madlib, and his favorite comic book villains.

Reiterating what he said in a recent interview, Madvillain 2 is almost ready. “I got a couple of more songs to touch up,” says DOOM. “If I finish up on time, you could have it by the end of the year.”
