The Texan punks reissue a quartet of classic albums.

The Butthole Surfers have announced plans to re-press their first four records on vinyl through their own label, Latino Bugger Veil, which had previously reissued the albums on CD.

The four albums showcase the gross-out punks in their prime as they melded psychedelic, experimental and heavy rock influences with their own unique strain of black humour and visceral imagery, starting with 1984’s Psychic…Powerless…Another Man’s Sac and continuing through 1986’s Rembrandt Pussyhorse, 1987’s Locust Abortion Technician and 1988’s Hairway to Steven.

The vinyl reissues are due out on 1 October; all tracklistings appear to be the same as the original albums. [via Exclaim]

Earlier this year Butthole Surfers singer Gibby Haynes became the latest artist to join Jack White’s Third Man Records as part of its Blue series of releases, issuing three tracks on 7″.
