Azealia slammed the UK rap scene after being dropped by a festival bill. Now the UK rap scene is striking back.

Just hours after her racist and homophobic rant against Zayn Malik  that later led to her removal from London’s Rinse | Born & Bred Festival line-up – Azealia Banks has slammed UK rap.

Despite featuring London-born rapper Shystie on her 2013 mixtape Fantasea (also collaborating with her for ‘Control It’, which did ultimately result in a diss track from Shystie) Banks has claimed that “the UK really can’t rap though” and called the British scene “a disgrace to rap culture in general.”

She also declared “UK rappers NEVER have swag. It’s ALWAYS FORCED,” in a series of tweets this morning (May 11).

But she clearly picked the wrong guy to have fight with, with dozens of artists and fans hitting back online and even threatening to throw piss at her on stage. Here’s a selection of the best Twitter responses.

Big Narstie also broke the situation down in a video for GrimeReportTV: “That girl’s riding her buzz inappropriately over social media.”

These are the latest in a string of controversial outbursts from the self-sabotaging rapper. Not only did she call Beyoncé a “thief” and endorse Donald Trump for president, but she is facing legal action from Sarah Palin for suggesting the former vice presidential candidate be “gang-banged”.

Now remind yourself of this diss track from Angel Haze.
