L7 have announced their first new music in 18 years.
The LA-based band formed in 1985, releasing their debut self-titled album in 1988. This was followed by 1990’s Smell The Magic and 1992’s seminal LP Bricks Are Heavy.
L7’s last full-length release was 1999’s Slap-Happy and the band went on hiatus in 2001. Co-founders Donita Sparks and Suzi Gardner, along with bassist Jennifer Finch and drummer Demetra Plakas reunited in 2015 and have been touring ever since.
Watch the trailer for Sarah Price-directed documentary L7: Pretend We’re Dead, which features interviews with Shirley Manson, Joan Jett, X vocalist Exene Cervenka, along with unearthed home movie footage. The first track will arrive on September 29 to coincide with the worldwide release of the film.
