Following last week’s news that Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear would be releasing a previously unavailable Arthur Russell track on his own Terrible Records imprint, we learn that disco label-cum-collective Electric Minds is bringing out a 12" entitled A Tribute To Arthur Russell.

It’s features what amount to three covers of Russell originals, and one remix. UK nu-disco veterans Faze Action join forces with Yam Who? and Mary Moore to take on what is arguably Russell’s single most impressive recording, the sprawling ‘In The Light of The Miracle’. Pocket Knife and vocalist Joe Worricker offer up their interpretation of ‘Get Around To It’, which also appears here as remixed by Birmingham’s slo-house hero Mark E. The 12" draws to a close with a version of ‘My Tiger My Timing’ produced by Andy Spence of New Young Pony Club. You can listen to clips of all the tracks here.

Due out on October 30, it’s the second Russell-related 12" to be assembled by Electric Minds: earlier this year came Arthur Russell Interpretations, which saw ‘Wax The Van’ remixed by both Yam Who? and Ilija Rudman, and ‘Treehouse’ remixed by Lil Tony.

2. Pocket Knife ft. Joe Worricker – Get Around To It
