The first line-up announcement for the 2010 edition of The Big Chill has been made, with Massive Attack and MIA among the headliners confirmed.

Massive Attack will bring their portentous audio-visual show to Herefordshire’s Eastnor Castle Deer Park in support of their widely acclaimed new album, Heligoland. With her eagerly awaited third album due out in 2010, MIA will have a bunch of new songs to perform alongside ol’ faves like ‘Galang’, ‘Paper Planes’ and (we hope) ’10 Dollar’, and will no doubt deliver them with her customary explosion-in-a-fluoro-factory chutzpah.

Kruder & Dorfmeister, whose classic double-CD set The K&D Sessions was, and remains, one of the handful of credible artistic statements to emerge from the “chill out” explosion of the 90s, will headline The Revellers Stage with dubstep noise-mongers Magnetic Man (Skream, Benga & Artwork) and house veterans Lay0 & Bushwacka.

The “legends” quota is more than fulfilled with scheduled sets from Candi Staton, Theo Parrish and Roy Ayers. Brazilian chanteuse Bebel Gilberto is also involved, as too are Lambchop’s Kurt Wagner (or ‘Kurt Wanger’, as the press release would have it), Greg Wilson, Seth Troxler and Jamie Jones.

Perennially popular UK rapper Roots Manuva will be dropping by, along with Kelis, Mr Scruff, Plan B, Tiny Tempah and Toddla T feat. MC Serocee. The Paradiso Club stage plays host to trusted selectors Andrew Weatherall, 20:20 Soundsystem an Henrik Schwarz.

The Big Chill takes place August 5-8; for more info and tickets, click here.
