This month sees the release of Omega, the new album from Robert Hood.

It’s a concept album of sorts, with the Detroit techno icon drawing inspiration from apocalyptic 70s sci-flick The Omega Man. But Hood’s “imaginary soundtrack” aspirations don’t get in the way of him delivering one of his most punishingly effective sets of recent years, a techno odyssey that flits from ominous ambient passages to piston-working club material with the kind kind of effortlessness and elegance conferred only by age.

You can read FACT’s review of the album here, and read our recent interview with Hood here. Meanwhile an mp3 of ‘Think Fast’, one of Omega‘s highlights, is just a couple of clicks away.
