01. SHED: THE TRAVELLER LAUNCH

Celebrating the release of his formidable new album on Ostgut-Ton, The Traveller, Berlin’s Shed pays a visit to London to perform one of his elegantly sculpted live sets. Super-heavyweight support comes from (let’s face it) the world’s foremost techno DJ, Surgeon, and Holland’s mighty A Made Up Sound (aka 2562). Room 2 has a Bristol flavour, with dubsteppers Peverelist, Guido and Hyetal on the 1s and 2s.
02. FOUR TET
Plastic People, London – September 11, 10.30-3.30, £8
The newly revived Plastic People installs Four Tet to pick up his popular residency. His FACT mix, dedicated to the floor-dwellers of the Shoreditch club, tells you what to expect at the backbone of his set: the cutting edge of house and techno, shot through with a healthy dose of post-dubstep and funky sounds, all delivered with uncommon sonority and swing and punctuated with more outré selections pulled from the annals of psychedelia, krautrock and beyond.
03. MAX RICHTER PLAYS INFRA
Cadogan Hall, London – September 17, £19.50
British composer Richter, whose haunting, electronics-imbued take on Glassian minimalism has yielded such classic albums as The Blue Notebooks and Songs From Before, takes to the stage of London’s Cadogan Hall to perform music from his latest LP, infra, which arose out of a collaboration with artist Julian Opie and choreographer Wayne McGregor.
04. MGMT / DUM DUM GIRLS

Those expecting Oracular Spectacular Pt. II were inevitably disappointed by MGMT’s altogether more opaque and inward-looking sophomore album, Congratulations. But those willing to trust the duo have been duly rewarded: now that they’ve wormed their way into our consciousness, the quality of the new songs is obvious, and it helps that the band have mastered the art of playing them live. This tour is set to capture MGMT at the peak of their powers, with support from loveable Cali garage-poppers Dum Dum Girls.
05. ALPHA-VILLE

A new international festival of digital arts and culture happening in London, Alpha-ville boasts a raft of established and up-and-coming talent, including Actress, Raster-Noton’s Pixel, Subeena, The Boats and Actress.
06. FACT and COMMUNITY

FACT and Community present a night of the best house music around, old and new. Headlining is the legend that is Kenny ‘Moodymann’ Dixon Jr, with UK support coming from the dusty grooves of Floating Points and Wbeeza.

07. EAT YOUR OWN EARS & BLOGGERS’ DELIGHT

The upgraded, three-piece Darkstar live band headline, with a wealth of material from their new album North to draw from. Superlative support comes from Hessle Audio’s Ramadanman, James Blake and residents Casper C, Skull Juice and more.

Swedish dream-poppers take recent album Machine Dreams on the road with a series of UK dates, including a show at London’s Koko.
09. THE VASELINES

Late ‘80s indie act, whose sole album remains a cult classic, thanks in no short part to Kurt Cobain’s relentless promotion of its virtues, play at Kings Cross’s Scala venue ahead of their long-awaited second LP.
10. WAREHOUSE PROJECT

The opening week of Manchester’s Warehouse Project commences with a preview show on Sep 23, with Maximo Park, Metronomy and more, before starting proper on Sep 24 (Adam Beyer, Steve Lawler, Jamie Jones, Joris Voon, Wolf and Lamb, Joy Orbison) and Sep 25 (Eric Prydz, a DJ set from Basement Jaxx, Felix Da Housecat and more).
