Massive Attack will perform a rare DJ set at A Taste of Sonar, in Cape Town.

A warm-up of sorts for the festival proper, A Taste of Sonar is the first Sonar event in Africa, and takes place this Friday, March 2 at the City Hall in Cape Town.

As well as Massive Attack, and United Visual Artists, who’ve also been announced today, the festival will feature slots from some of European dance music’s leading lights in Modeselektor, Brodinski and Byetone, and hometown talent in the form of BLK JKS, Jullian Gomes and Killer Robot. Another highlight comes in the form of SonarCinema, described by the festival’s press release as “a painstaking selection of films and documentaries with a high artistic standard that are outstanding in terms of their original approach to the musical spectrum”.
