Fiercely eclectic post-punkers 23 Skidoo are to release their classic 1982 mini-album on wax for the first time in almost thirty years.

The limited edition 2xLP set will arrive courtesy of LTM Records in April. The album has been digitally remastered, and comes bundled with 35 minutes worth of extra material. Amongst the bonus goodies are the band’s sole Peel session, the elusive ‘The Gospel Comes To New Guinea’/’Last Words’ single, and four previously unavailable tracks. The booklet will also contain classic 23 Skidoo images and, for the benefit of newer fans looking to buff up on the band, a full biography.

23 Skidoo formed in 1979, and became known for a sound that assimilated an array of world music styles into a thick and sometimes disorientating stew. By turns influenced by dub, gamelan and hip-hop, the band went through six albums and numerous line-up changes before finally disbanding in 2003.

The newly remastered Seven Songs will arrive nn April 2, courtesy of LTM.
