In May, selected essays on the topic of legendary crooner Scott Walker will be collected in a new anthology.

No Regrets: Writings on Scott Walker will arrive courtesy of The Wire and Orion Books on May 17. The tome has been pulled together by Rob Young, author of 2010’s well-regarded Electric Eden: Unearthing Britain’s Visionary Music. As Tiny Mix Tapes report, the set will include contributions from David Toop, Nina Power, Derek Walmsley, David Stubbs and director Stephen Kijack (who helmed 2008 Walker biopic 30th Century Man).

For the uninitiated, Walker’s career began with sixties vocal trio The Walker Brothers. He also released a clutch of classic self-titled solo LPs throughout the 1960s. From the 1980s onward, Walker reinvented himself as an avant-garde chanteur: 1995’s Tilt and 2006’s The Drift are still some of the most harrowing records released in either decade. Last year, Walker scored an Aletta Collins dance piece at the Royal Opera House in London, and is also supposedly working on new material for 4AD.
