Given the fact that we’re in the last day of a four-day weekend – in the UK at least – there’s a good chance you missed what was going on in the world of music of late.

Don’t feel bad. a) you were probably doing something more worthy of your time, like drinking alcohol and inhaling chocolate, and b) FACT is here to round up what you missed. What follows is the best news and audio of the Easter Bank Holiday.

– Company Flow and Def Jux’s El-P announced more details of his highly-anticipated new album, Cancer for Cure. It’s his first since 2007, and you can also read our short catch-up with him about the record here.

– Two previously unheard Lana Del Rey tracks hit the net.

– Kevin Shields claimed that he’s in the process of “finishing” the new My Bloody Valentine record – you know, the one people have been waiting for since 1991. Now, given how many times this project’s supposed to have been on the horizon, you’d be forgiven for rolling your eyes, but what’s Easter without the eggs, right? At least that double-disc version of Loveless [right] is on the way.

– Drake released two new videos, for Take Care’s ‘HYFR’ (featuring Lil Wayne) and ‘Take Care’ (featuring Rihanna and Jamie xx on production).

– A new track from Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music stable was released. It features 2 Chainz, Kanye, Pusha T and Big Sean on mic, but perhaps most intriguingly, features LuckyMe and Warp’s Hudson Mohawke on “additional instruments”. You can hear it here – hopefully this is the start of something wonderful.

– A large chunk of ambient master William Basinski’s back catalogue was re-pressed, including the essential The Disintegration Loops.

– Rustie contributed a storming BBC Essential Mix, Hype Williams gave away a free album , and Snoop Dogg announced the forthcoming release of a “smokable song-book”. Well, of course he did.

– Finally, FACT kept the features rolling: have your say on our 10 Greatest Comeback Records of All Time, interviews with Frankie Knuckles and Cindytalk, archived conversations with Actress and Brian Eno, and whether araabMUZIK’s Electronic Dream really is the ultimate pop record. New releases by Dream Continuum (a.k.a. Machinedrum and Om Unit) and Dawn Richard were also reviewed. Happy Easter!
