The album would be their first since 1989.

Jackie Jackson, the eldest of the Jackson brothers, has told Billboard that the Jacksons want to record a new album after they finish this summer’s Unity reunion tour. That tour is the family band’s first since 1984, when their late brother Michael led them on the record-breaking Victory tour, and the new album would be their first since 1989, when they released 2300 Jackson Street without Michael.

Along with Jackie, brothers Marlon, Tito, and Jermaine will hit the road during June and July, then, subsequently, the studio. Jackson says the new LP would have “a little bit of today, and also a return to our sound. We’re gonna keep it simple… We can’t shy away from our sound.”
