Alta Ego’s latest History Of Detroit session at London’s Rhythm Factory is to be headlined by DJ T-1000.

Real name Alan Oldham, T-1000 worked for Underground Resistance in the fledgling days of the label and was instrumental in the spread of techno via his Fast Forward radio show on WDET. He’s the founder of the seminal Generator and Pure Sonik record labels, and his own releases include 1999’s Progress album on Tresor. Oldham also happens to be a gifted visual artist: he designed the early sleeves for Derrick May’s Transmat label and is renowned for his comic book art.

Also on the bill: Liverpool’s John Heckle, whose deep-seated appreciation of the Detroit sound is well-documented, and Scotsman Stephen Brown (Transmat, Subject Detroit, Djax-Up-Beats) performing live. Support comes from Tom Long, Larry Cavelle, DJ Mourad, Analog Chornicles, Alex Mason and Asher Jones.
It all takes place this Friday, 11 May, 10pm-6am, at the Rhythm Factory. Advance tickets can be purchased for £9 here.
