Hats off to Eastern Electrics HQ for displaying some serious organisational nous.

The dance festival was initially scheduled to take place at Clapham Common, but the venue had to be abruptly switched midway through the preparation process. The team have now sourced an alternative venue that should prove a more than ample substitute.

The new location is Greenwich’s Area 12. The venue is the last undeveloped site on the Greenwich Peninsula, best known for being home to the 02 Arena. Area 12 boasts a main stage and four tent spaces, and an artificial, shipping-container heavy decor. Capacity is 10,000, and North Greenwich tube is the nearest transport link.

In spite of the venue switch, the line-up and stage times remain unaltered. A host of big dance names are down for the bash: Joy Orbison, Julio Bashmore Kerri Chandler, Huxley, Jamie Jones, Sebo K, Nina Kraviz, Geddes and Maceo Plex are among the many confirmed acts. Eastern Electrics Festival takes place on August 4, and will run from 11am-10pm.
