The OST to John Carpenter’s 1981 film Escape From New York – a very important record for synth fans and horror buffs alike is getting a fancy new rerelease.

According to Juno Plus, the album will be the second release for new label The Death Waltz Recording Co. The imprint – run by Rough Trade East’s Spencer Hickman – previously put out Fabio Frizzi’s soundtrack for 1979 date movie classic Zombie Flesh Eaters.

Escape From New York will include six lesser-known Carpenter tracks that failed to make the original soundtrack. The release will be adorned with freshly commissioned artwork from poster artist Iron Jaiden. Lengthy new sleeve notes will also be included, written by soundtrack legend and Carpenter collaborator Alan Howarth. The package also includes an A2 poster and an exclusive lithograph.
