It’s astonishing to think that Rinse is 18 years old.

The station, which is of course recently ended a long battle for legitimacy with its landing of an official FM license, is in the rudest of health, as is its in-house record label of the same name. As such, its 2012 birthday is being celebrated with a whole weekend of sub-bass largesse, kicking off at Manchester’s Warehouse Project on Friday 28 September, and then heading to London’s Brixton Academy on Saturday 29 September.

Representing its increased commitment to poppier fare with serious crossover potential, Katy B, AlunaGeorge and Lianne La Havas will all be making appearances at the Warehouse Project, joining the more, er, rugged likes of (deep breath) Kode9, Ben UFO, Boy Better Know, P Money, Artwork, Pearson Sound, Roska, Jamie George, Loefah, Youngsta, Icicle, Plastician, Artwork, Oneman, Jackmaster, Joker, Dismantle, T. Williams, Marcus Nasty, J:Kenzo, Brackles, Baauer, Elijah & Skilliam, Royal-T, Preditah & C4, Uncle Dugs, Mark Radford, Sian Anderson, Sgt Pokes, Tippa, SP:MC and Shantie. Oh, and there’s a special guest in the shape of Diplo.

The Manchester party runs 7pm-4am and tickets are £20 early bird and £22.50 regular; more information and tickets here.

The Brixton showcase offers many of the same names – among them Marcus Nasty, P Money, AlunaGeorge, Joker, Roska, Jackmaster, Artwork, T. Williams, Brackles, Dismantle, Preditah & C4, Sian Anderson, Elijah & Skilliam, Royal-T, Preditah & C4 – plus special guests Modeselektor, A-Trak and Claude Von Stroke, with Sticky, Zinc, Wookie, Ms Dynamite, Mosca and more.

The London show is an all-nighter, 9pm-6am; tickets are £17.50-£25 and available here.
