Daniel Lopatin will be bringing Reliquary House, his live audiovisual show made in collaboration with artist Nate Boyce, to London next month, Dummy report.

The show, premiered at New York’s MoMa last year, will be performed at LSO St. Luke’s church as part of the Barbican’s “Transcender” series. The series aims to present a “global selection of ecstatic, hypnotic and just plain psychedelic music” across a range of performances; Lopatin and Boyce will be sharing a platform with the likes of The Necks and the Sun Ra Arkestra (full details of the series here).

According to the Barbican’s bumpf, Reliquary House aims to “re-imagine the canon of modernist sculpture through hallucinatory reconstructions of works by David Smith, Jacob Epstein, Anthony Caro and more. Boyce uses computer-generated imagery to transform these sculptures into kinetic apparitions that inhabit incongruous and ‘impossible’ landscapes and architectural environments.”

Support on the night will come from PAN-signed Eli Keszler and Software’s own Megafortress; tickets are available from the Barbican site. In the meantime, you can watch an intriguing (if not altogether illuminating) video of the MoMa performance below.
