If Norman Nodge looks like he’s thinking “fuck you”, it’s probably because he is. He is techno’s biggest bad-ass.

He’s techno’s biggest bad-ass because, although he probably could live a perfectly healthy life from DJ bookings and remix fees, he doesn’t need techno in the slightest. Norman Nodge might be a resident at the Berghain, Berlin’s most celebrated club, but it’s a part-time gig for him: first and foremost, he’s a lawyer, husband and father – a point that Nodge frequently makes in interviews.

On October 22, Nodge will release the latest installment in the Berghain’s mix CD series. Berghain 06 features music from DJ T-1000, Jeff Mills, Mokira, Oni Ayhun, Mark Broom and more, and as ever with the Berghain CDs, will be accompanied by a 12″ release featuring tracks from Broom, Patrick Gräser and Birds Two Cage [via RA].
