Modeselektor’s Monkeytown imprint, now nudging into its fourth year, has continued to develop and diversify.

A forthcoming mix release, Best of Monkeytown Records 2012, will do exactly what it says on the tin: compile a smattering of work from keynote artists releasing music on the label this year. Mouse On Mars, whose blistering Parastrophics ranks up there with their best work, naturally feature, as do electro-indebted duo Lazer Sword. Phon.o, Bambounou, Siriusmo Doctor and one-time FACT mixers Anstam. West Coast beatmaker eLan takes charge of sequencing and mixing, and also contributes to the set.
