The Weeknd signs “strategic partnership” with Republic Records for <em>Trilogy</em> release

The moody R&B crooner prepares his star-making mixtapes for commercial release.

According to Consequence of Sound, Abel Tesfaye and his XO imprint have signed with Universal subsidiary Republic Records.

Trilogy, out November 13, contains House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence, which were mixed and mastered for the first time. All editions will feature new, unreleased material.

The Weeknd will tour North America through October, both solo and in support of Florence and the Machine. The tour dates follow, after the ambitious video for ‘The Knowing.’
