‘Angels’, the keynote cut from The xx’s chart-topping Coexist, has got a new remix from Four Tet.

The track was aired during the band’s appearance on Huw Stephens’ BBC Radio 1 show. Kieran Hebden’s take on ‘Angels’ is a delicate reading that preserves the grace and poise of the original; full of shoegazy touches and characterised by restraint, it distantly recalls his remix of Bloc Party’s ‘So Here We Are’ from way back when.

On the show, Jamie xx suggests that the remix has no concrete release date, but may well arrive as a 12″, backed with one of his own remixes of Four Tet. Click below to listen. [via Beats Per Minute]
