Mod revivalists The Jam reissue The Gift as deluxe boxset

The Jam’s final album gets the oh-so-popular deluxe reissue treatment.

Paul Weller and The Jam spearheaded the late 70s/early 80s mod revival. Their last album before their 1982 break-up was the Northern Soul-inspired The Gift. According to Exclaim.ca, Universal Records will reissue the album in a deluxe boxset on November 19.

The three CD set is comprehensive, with a remastered version of the original album, singles, B-sides, demos, and alternate takes across two discs, and a recording of the band’s December 1982 performance Live at Wembley on the third. A DVD includes the live performance footage along with promo clips and TV appearances.

In addition, the set ships with a 72-page hardback book with a foreword by Weller, a replicated tour program and a set of postcard prints. For non-completists, the remastered album will be available on double CD or digitally. Watch The Jam’s Top of the Pops performance of ‘Precious’ below; pre-order the album now.
