“I got a real good friend in the building”, said Mary J. Blige at a Las Vegas concert this weekend – and she wasn’t lying
During her set at the iHeartRadio music festival at the city’s MGM Grand Arena, Blige paused her rendition of Chaka Khan’s ‘Sweet Thing’ to welcome Prince to the stage. After promising one of the “most amazing artists ever to walk the earth”, Mr. Rogers Nelson appeared on the stage, and the pair resumed the track. Prince subsequently asked the crowd if “y’all mind if I play this thing’, and duetted with Blige on a tag-team version of ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’. A snippet of the performance is available to watch below and, forgetting the fact that Prince appears to be wearing welding gear, it’s as kilelr you’d expect. [via NME]
Prince recently returned with a new track, the throwback ‘RNR Affair’.
