Detroit house and techno royalty have convened for a remarkable new 12″.
Dirt Tech Reck is a new label captained by erstwhile Slum Village member Waajeed, trading in this capacity as Jeedo. The imprint’s being launched with DTR-01, a four-track 12″ credited to Waajeed’s Electric Street Orchestra alias, and a “constellation of Detroit’s sonic masters” are featured musicians on the release.
Underground Resistance co-founder “Mad” Mike Banks and producer Chaos/UR-043 contributed to a track called ‘Scorpio’. The B Side, meanwhile, features a porous ensemble known as the ‘Master Funk Association’. The group’s membership is pretty impressive: house legend Theo Parrish, one-time Slum Village DJ Andres and The Rotating Assembly’s Duminie DePorres all feature.
Master Funk Association’s twinkling contribution, ‘M.F.A’ is available to stream below. DTR-01 is due in the near future, with limited hand numbered copies available alongside standard edition vinyl.
Tracklisting:
1. Scorpio (featuring Chaos)
2. Scorpio (Instrumental)
