Since his untimely passing in 2006, J Dilla’s discography has swelled substantially.

The much-missed Detroit beatmaker has released career-high studio LPs Donuts and The Shining, been sequenced by Pete Rock on 2009’s Jay Stay Paid and, earlier this year, been collected on the DILLATROIT EP for Mahogoni and gone up against Danny Brown and The Cool Kids on Rebirth Of Detroit.

As the official Dilla Tumblr notes, it looks like there’s more unheard material on the way. Vintage hip-hop label Delicious Vinyl has entered into a partnership arrangement with Dilla family business Yancey Media Group, and the two are set to release an assortment of unheard Jay Dee music in the coming months, collected under the umbrella term ‘The Lost Scrolls’.

2013 will see the arrival of a 10″ collection of unreleased tracks, featuring rapping as well as beats from the producer. Delicious Vinyl will also release Detroit duo Frank-n-Dank’s long-lost 48 Hrs LP, produced entirely by Dilla. Although the record was never officially released, it’s long held considerable sway among Jay Dee fans, and remains – supposedly at the insistence of then-label MCA – the only Dilla LP produced without the use of samples.

A new single is also expected next month. ‘The Throwaway’, credited to Yancey Boys feat. Frank Nitt, will include a new verse from Dilla’s brother Illa J. Nitt (of Frank-n-Dank) has played a key role in curating and releasing Dilla’s lost work. Rebirth Of Detroit cut  ‘Jay Dee’s Revenge’ is below. [via Pitchfork]
