Vampire Weekend's Contra follow-up due this Spring

Grammar-resisting New Yorkers Vampire Weekend’s new album is due this Spring.

In a new interview with Q [via Consequence of Sound], the group’s Ezra Koenig describes the as-yet-untitled album as “darker” and “more organic” than their last effort, 2010’s Contra, and claims that it “really does feel like the third chapter in a book” (it’s the group’s third album to date). “We created some characters on the first record, some of which are real people, some of which are ourselves, so it’s not so hard to keep following them and see what their concerns are now and how their lives have changed.”

Watch the group perform new song ‘Unbelievers’ below.
