The festival still informally known as the Detroit Electronic Music Festival returns for the 14th time.

Since 2000, Detroit’s Movement Electronic Music Festival has been one of the best celebrations of electronic music in the US. In the last few years, DEMF has come to represent the antithesis of Miami’s baby raver extravaganza Ultra Music Festival, especially with techno legend Carl Craig back as the festival’s artistic director.

This year’s edition takes place at Detroit’s Hart Plaza on May 25-27, and the festival has announced its first phase of performers. Craig will be joined by Mala, Richie Hawtin, Tensnake, Derrick May & Kevin Saunderson, and The Bug, among others.
